The national and international prestige of the Department is reflected in the range and quality of its scholarly activities: invitations to lecture and present papers in the UK and abroad, editorial activity, reviewing, consultancies and refereeing, and individual honours.

Editorships of journals. Cornick is managing editor of M&CF, and chair of the editorial board.

Editorships of monograph series. Ricketts is General Editor, Publications de l’Association Internationale d’Etudes Occitanes.

Election to Learned Societies. During the period, Ricketts was elected Member of the Société Archéologique, Scientifique et Littéraire de Béziers, of the Medieval Academy of America, and of the Council of the Association Internationale d’Etudes Occitanes.
