RA6a: Additional observations, Evidence of esteem

During the assessment period, UEA Pure Mathematicians have been invited to give lectures in or make extended academic visits to Australia, Austria, Belorussia, Belgium, Bosnia, Canada, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Israel, Italy, New Zealand, Poland, Slovenia and the USA. Besides this, they have played host to colleagues from Austria, Belorussia, Canada, Hungary, Italy, Russia and the USA. This indicates the international profile of Pure Mathematics at UEA.

The four postdoctoral fellows have been Dr V Mnukhin (1.10.97-30.9.98), Dr M Einsiedler (1.9.99-31.8.00), Dr C Morgan (1.12.99-30.11.01) and Dr J Moore (1.9.00-31.8.01). Their input is discussed at greater length in RA5c.

The Pure Mathemations have attracted small grants totalling £26,000 from BLC, LMS, EPSRC, NATO and the Royal Society to bring visitors to UEA.

In the second part of this section we list a selection of activities of research staff that illustrate their national and international profile.
