RAE 2008 XML schemas

This page contains all the XML schemas which should be referenced when using various functionality of the RAE 2008 data collection system.

Import

One of the methods for importing data into the RAE 2008 data collection system is by using XML files. The two schemas listed below give the structure that the data collection system will expect the files to take. The schema in the file RAE2008Data.xsd gives the structure of the file and includes some of the simpler validation checks. The schema in the file RAE2008DataSimple.xsd just gives the structure of the file and only includes the validation checks needed to load the data into the data collection system. Please see the Import pages for more details.

Web services

All of the methods available through web services return data in XML format. The schemas listed below give the structure of the data. All methods return data using the schema RAE2008MethodReturn.xsd (unless otherwise specified - see Chapter 12 (Web services) in the RAE 2008 data collection user guide). The method to retrieve the current locks for the given session returns XML using the schema RAE2008Locks.xsd. The method to retrieve the current status of the job, along with the log for the job once it has completed processing returns XML using the schema RAE2008JobStatus.xsd. The method to validate the data for the given submissions and forms in the RAE 2008 data collection system returning XML output format uses the schema RAE2008ValidationReport.xsd.
