Other relevant details: This paper presents work from one of the two contracts awarded to Professor Arnell under the EPSRC/DTI LINK Scheme in Surface Engineering (GR/K87418: £115k). As a result of this project, one of the Company Partners, Teer Coatings Ltd, developed a Diamond-like Carbon coating (trade name Graphit-ic) that is still widely exploited internationally (dennist@teercoatings.co.uk). The co-authors of the paper are at research institutes in Canada.
