Other relevant details: This project involved deciphering and bring into the public domain the hitherto unpublished fourth and final redaction of Remizov's ground-breaking Symbolist novel Prud (The Mere): some 380 manuscript pages, c. 110,000 words. The edition also contains the following: i) a 50-page critical essay analysing the language, characterisation, plot and narratorial structure of the different versions of the novel; ii) 11 pages of endnotes detailing emendations and the most significant stylistic and structural divergences from the earlier redactions; iii) an appendix giving the full manuscript version of Remizov's introduction to the final version which he tried without success to get published in the late 1920s; iv) a second appendix in the form of a table indicating the correspondences between chapter divisions in the four redactions.
