Other relevant details: This special issue of the journal Addiction reports outcomes from the national evaluation of smoking cessation services in England commissioned by the Department of Health. Bauld is co-author of seven of the 11 articles. They have been extensively cited: they have generated debate amongst the tobacco control research community ('Globalink') and have been mentioned in Hansard. Bauld took lead responsibility for key elements of the qualitative work. She was also responsible for disseminating findings from the evaluation at a range of seminars and conferences, with many of these presentations being invited plenary talks.

Other relevant details: This is the main article presenting findings from the DOH funded national evaluation of Health Action Zones. Bauld led the 'monitoring' module of the study that evaluated outcomes across all 26 HAZs and took primary responsibility for writing this article. The study also produced a book, other articles and a number of reports. Outputs from the research have been cited in a wide range of policy reports on health, regeneration and partnerships. The study was the subject of a special visit by the Health Select Committee in 2002 and has been used as a source to respond to parliamentary questions.
